PROJECT DESCRIPTION
My classmates and I were tasked with designing a “toy” that is centered around the growing ideal of the sharing economy. This project is solely based on only a concept proposal. The project promoted various ideation methods to create a toy that is disruptive innovation. Throughout the project the various ideation methods used were: C-K Mapping, Divergent Scenario, and Perspective Shift.
DESIGN PROPOSAL
The Quick Fix Station is a proposal for a system rather than a toy. Throughout my exploration, my toy designs slowly evolved to a system rather than a single product. From my exploration in the ideation space, I identified an ambitious opportunity to design a system inside the sharing economy that allows children to learn the importance of sustainability, informs on the sharing economy, and allows access to the creative thought processes and hands-on crafting-based skills.
DESIGN PROCESS
My design process features the main ideation methods I employed to reach a final concept design: The techniques were the C-K Map, Divergent Scenario, and Perspective Shift. These techniques were helpful in comparing, analyzing, creating new concepts, and mixing concepts together to design a final concept.
